The Scripture and University Seminar (SAUS) is part of KLC’s Scripture Collective with a special interest in place and placemaking. They’re hosting a series of events over the next three months open to anyone interested in exploring this topic or joining this research group. This series culminates in our annual in-person meeting at SBL/IBR to be held in Boston in November.
This second event is an open discussion, lead by Dr Cyndi Parker on the topic Placemaking in Deuteronomy.
Dr Parker’s PhD dissertation pursued the connection between the modern analysis of place and biblical studies, focused especially on Deuteronomy. She teaches in universities and churches about the biblical narrative, investing in place and people, and what it means to be a resident and citizen of the world.
The aim is to meet for just 45 minutes to enjoy guided discussion and some open exploration of place in Deuteronomy, so please come and participate! Join the discussion on Thursday, August 14, from 13:00 EST (18:00 UK time). The Teams link will be sent during the day on Thursday. All are welcome.
