Dr. Joshua Seth Houston holds a PhD in Biblical Studies from Faulkner University. His teaching focuses on helping students read the Bible with attentiveness to narrative context, ancient culture, and theological coherence. He is the author of multiple books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and conference presentations. His research examines the formation of Israel’s identity in the Old Testament, sacrificial theology, and the interpretive traditions of early Christianity. Among his projects are studies on the Exodus and Israel’s relationship to Egypt, the theological meaning of circumcision, and the sacrificial language in the teachings of Jesus. He is also engaged in historical theology, including research on early Restoration Movement figures and Christian doctrinal development. Alongside his academic writing, Dr. Houston is committed to making serious biblical scholarship accessible to broader audiences through teaching, public lectures, and other educational resources. His work aims to show that careful historical study and theological reflection deepen the richness of Scripture. He lives in Tennessee with his family and spends much of his time teaching, writing, and surrounded by far too many books. Website: https://drjoshuahouston.com
