Rev Dr Chris Wright MA PhD, is International Ambassador for Langham Partnership (www.langham.org). He was born and grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland (UK). Having obtained his doctorate from Cambridge in Old Testament economic ethics in 1977, and after ordained Anglican ministry in the Church of England, in Tonbridge, Kent, he taught the Old Testament at the Union Biblical Seminary in India for five years (1983-88). After that he taught at All Nations Christian College (a missionary training institute) in England and was Principal there till 2001, when he took over the leadership of Langham Partnership, at the invitation of its founder, John Stott. Langham seeks to strengthen the ministry of God’s Word in majority world churches, by providing and creating evangelical literature, strengthening theological education by funding doctoral studies for faculty development, and fostering movements for training in biblical preaching. Chris was the Chair of the Lausanne Theology Working Group from 2005 – 2011, and was the chief architect of The Cape Town Commitment – the Statement of the Third Lausanne Congress in October 2010.

His books include commentaries on Exodus, Deuteronomy, Jeremiah, Lamentations, and Ezekiel; Old Testament Ethics for the People of God; Knowing Jesus through the Old Testament; The Mission of God; The God I Don’t Understand; The Mission of God’s People, and How to Preach and Teach the O.T. for All It’s Worth. Chris and his wife Liz have four adult children and eleven grandchildren, and live in London UK, as members of All Souls Church, Langham Place.

Chris enjoys a bit of light running, birdwatching occasionally, and following Ireland’s fortunes in the rugby Six Nations.
