Lecture 1: Divine Action and the Decalogue

This year is KLC’s “Year of the Decalogue,” as we anticipate the publication of Craig Bartholomew’s Moses and the Victory of Yahweh. As part of this focus, KLC is running a series of lectures throughout 2026 and 2027 on topics relevant to the Decalogue.

In the first official lecture in the series (though it follows an earlier decalogue-related lecture to the Arts hub), Craig Bartholomew presented “Divine Action and the Decalogue: Sacred Order and Social Order” in which he discusses the significance of God’s speaking in history, reflecting on how it influenced philosopher JG Hamann’s alternative to the philosophy of Kant.
