SAHS at SBL: Reading Difficult Texts as Christian Scripture

SAHS will pick up our multi-year project from 2024, Reading Difficult Texts as Christian Scripture, with a focus on Joshua and Judges. The session will be the capstone of our three online events throughout 2026 that addressed questions of hermeneutics, intertextuality/reception, and formation. J. Richard Middleton will give a summative reflection from an Old Testament perspective, and Jim Neumann will give a summative reflection from a New Testament perspective. The session will conclude with discussion and Q/A with presenters from the year’s online events.
