Tersha De Koning is a lawyer interested in criminal, constitutional, and Charter law, at the intersection of which hope to eventually practice, teach, and publish simulntaneously. She has a BA (Honours) specializing in philosophy and majoring in psychology from the University of Toronto (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), from which she graduated summa cum laude; a JD from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada), where she was a decorated student and mooter and from which she graduated cum laude; and an LLM specializing in criminal law from the University of Toronto (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), for which she won a fully funded fellowship award and from which she graduated summa cum laude. (She will be applying for her SJD in 2026.) She has worked as a lawyer for Innocence Canada, a non-profit organization that does appellate-level advocative, exonerative, educative, and reformative work for clients who have been wrongfully convicted of homicide cases, and articled as a judicial clerk at Canada’s largest trial court and its appellate division. She is also a member of Christian Legal Fellowship, Canada’s national association of Christian lawyers, law students, legal academics, and jurists; an alumni of a Christian professionals’ fellowship program from Cardus, a Christian think tank in Canada; and leads in ministry roles at her local church, at which she has been a member for almost 20 years.
