Peter Altmann worked in Austria as an investment consultant and in church development in South Africa before beginning his theological education at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology (MDiv), Princeton Seminary (ThM, PhD – Old Testament), and the University of Zürich (Habilitation; post-doc). He is professor of Old Testament and Associate Dean of the Center for Advanced Theological Study at Fuller Theological Seminary. His interests concern the ways in which biblical texts relate to the everyday challenges of life in ancient Israel—that is, how faith relates to food and drink, law and justice, and poverty and wealth.
